Construction work is under way on CS3000, a £9m investment designed to accelerate the development of Newport as a centre for the defence industry.
The 35,000 sq ft speculative development will be adjacent to where defence business EADS is establishing its centre and will be flanked by an £11m, four-star, 120 -bed Ramada Plaza hotel and a 100-place children’s day nursery. Altogether, the three developments are expected to create 500 jobs. The CS3000 office block should be ready for business by summer 2007.
Celtic Springs has already significant job growth. Around 1,500 posts have been created by the Prison Service, Wales & West Utilities,the Midas Group, defence business EADS, and Irish conglomerate the Quinn Group.
