In a major regeneration scheme that could bring over 7,00 new jobs to the Newport area over a ten year period, Chepstow based company Broadhall has been appointed as the prefered developer to purchase the 600 acre, former Llanwern steel works site near Newport.
The site is included in the draft UDP, which refers to 1700 dwellings and a mix of business, commercial, leisure and community uses. The site is also identified as an urban regeneration site in the plan, which has the full backing of Newport City Council and the Welsh Assembly Government.
